“In the beginning God” – these first four words of the Bible set the foundation for all of life. I am a child of God first and Dean and Diane are my parents. Debbie is my wife and we have four gifts from God named Abby, Sheley, Ryan, and Sam. Sheley married Staphon and they brought into this world two more of God’s gifts, ZoĆ« and Clarke, and to all those grandparents who said they should have skipped children and gone straight to grandchildren, I get it now. But, honestly, I would not skip a thing because all of life is a gift of God. “This is the day that the Lord has made” welcomes us with each sunrise, so let us rejoice and be glad in it. Seek first the kingdom of God is #1 on the priority list and there are no 2’s, 3’s, and 4’s. God’s in charge of those and orders them better than we do. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength and love your neighbor as you love yourself. That’s the core of life and it begins with God.
Then, of course, God’s greatest gift – for God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
